Kathleen had a bag of candy-coated chocolates. Of the 55 candies in the bag, 20% were red, 30% were orange, 30% were green, and 20% were blue. Of the blue ones, 10% had a damaged candy coating. Approximately how many of the blue ones had a damaged candy coating?

So 20% is 1/5 and 1/5 of 55 is 11. That means there are in total 11 blue candies if 1/5 of them is damaged then technically 2.2 of them are which is kinda weird as it doesn't give whole number

Since there are 55 candies in the bag, and there are 20% of blue candies, it would look like this:

55 x 0.20 = 11

Now that we have 11, you multiply it by the damage coating, so

11 x 0.10 = 1.1
