In order to calculate the rocket's height after 3 seconds, let's use t = 3 in the equation and calculate the value of the expression:

$\begin{gathered} h=-16t^2+83t+39\\ \\ h=-16\cdot3^2+83\operatorname{\cdot}3+39\\ \\ h=-16\operatorname{\cdot}9+249+39\\ \\ h=-144+288\\ \\ h=144\text{ ft} \end{gathered}$
