Central High School is having their annual spaghetti dinner tomorrow evening, so a team of volunteer cooks is busy preparing for the event. They estimate that each of the 200 guests will eat 1.5 cups of tomato sauce. If the cooks already made 6 gallons of tomato sauce yesterday, how many gallons do they have to make today?

Number of gallons= 6 +X

1 cup of tomate = 100 ml

Then 200x 1.5 cups= 200x 150= 30000 ml = 30 m3

Now 1 gallon = 3.78 m3

6 gallons = 28.68 m3

1 liter= 1000 cm3 = 10 m3

Then

X= 30 m3 - 28.68 m3= 1.32 m3

Then answer is

X= 1.32 m3

or

X= (1.32/3.78) gallons = 0.35 gallons
