Answer:

The increase in point's in stock are:

12 points.

Explanation:

The price of a share of Arbor's stock increased from 24 1/2 to 36 1/2.

i.e. initial stocks were= 24 1/2

it is given in mixed fraction we will change this to improper fraction as:

24(1)/(2)=(24* 2+1)/(2)\\\\24(1)/(2)=(49)/(2)

similarly the changed value of stocks is:36 1/2

On changing this mixed fraction value to improper fraction we get:

36(1)/(2)=(36* 2+1)/(2)\\\\36(1)/(2)=(73)/(2)

Now, the change in the stock's value is:

(73)/(2)-(49)/(2)\\\\=(73-49)/(2)\\\\=(24)/(2)\\\\=12

Hence, the stock's increased by:

12 points.

We find the difference between the two values:
36.5 - 24.5
= 12.0

The stock increased by 12.0 points.
