How did the geography of the world change during the period of Alexander’s rule?

During the period of Alexander’s rule the world became more knit together and the Hellenistic Period began. The Hellenistic period is the period of Mediterranean history between the death of Alexander the Great I and the emergence of the Roman Empire.

The geography of the world

grew larger and was evident in expansion of countries such as Egypt, Greece, Persia, and a part of northern India.

Alexander the Great led several conquering campaigns from Macedon, Greece, Egypt, Persia, to India. He spread Greek thought and culture in his wake, After his death this huge Empire was divided among his four generals:

Lysimachus - A large portion of Asia Minor and Thrace.

Seleucos I- The other portion of Asia. Besides, founded Mesopotamia, Levant, Persia, and part of India.

Ptolemy I - Palestine, Egypt, Cyprus, Petra, Cilicia.

Cassander - Greece, Macedonia.
