Kush cities had a design and layout similar to the design of most cities in Egypt and contained temple and pyramid tombs. Egyptians cities contained wood and fueled iron furnaces.

  • Kush was an empire to the south of Egypt and was built at the base of the mountains, they had a steady amount of rainfall. This region of Africa had mined minerals and high-quality stone for trade and introduced and developed iron metallurgy.
  • Egypt depended on the flooding of the Nile River, they sponsored mineral exploitation of the valley and surrounding desert regions.
  • The architecture of the cities was similar, they had temples and pyramids tombs. But the Kush had wood-fueled iron furnaces so they could develop iron metallurgy.
