"Y is 5 less" translate to Y = -5. The key word here is
"is less".
The product of 4 and x is 4*x. The key word here
"the product of".
Now, combine it. Y = 4*x-5.

Y is 5 less -> y - 5
product of 4 and x -> 4x
y-5 = 4x
"y = 4x + 5"
