The perimeter of a rectangle is 30 inches. The length of the rectangle is 3 more than twice the width(w). Write an algebraic expression and determine how many inches long are the width and the length of a rectangle?

30=2(3+2w)+2(w)

width w




Perimeter=2 (width+length)



30=2 (w+2w+3)


15=3w+3


3w=12


w=4


2w+3=2.4+3=11
