Answer:

As Per Provided Information

  • Initial velocity of train u is 60m/s
  • Final velocity of train v is 0m/s
  • Time taken to stop the train t is 1.25min

Let's convert the unit of time

t = 1.25 × 60 s

t = 75 s

We have been asked to determine the acceleration of the train .

Using Formulae

\boxed{\bf \: a = \bigg((v - u)/(t) \bigg)}

Substituting the value we obtain

\sf \longrightarrow \: a \: = (0 - 60)/(75) \\ \\ \\ \sf \longrightarrow \: a \: = \cfrac{ - 60}{75} \\ \\ \\ \sf \longrightarrow \: a \: = \cancel\cfrac{ - 60}{75} \\ \\ \\ \sf \longrightarrow \: a \: = - 0.8 {ms}^( - 2)

Here, negative sign show deceleration .

Therefore,

  • Acceleration of the train is -0.8m/
