We know that we have a budget of $750, of that we need to use $175 for food and decorations, then we can use $575 on the DJ.

Let x be the number of hours the DJ is going to play, since he charges $75 per hour the total cost for the hours will be:

75x

to this cost we have to add the business fee of $125, then the total cost of the DJ is:

75x+125

Now, we need this to be equal or less to the $575 remaining, that is:

75x+125\leq575

Solving for x we have:

\begin{gathered} 75x+125\leq575 \\ 75x\leq575-125 \\ 75x\leq450 \\ x\leq(450)/(75) \\ x\leq6 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the maximum hours the DJ can play is 6.
