First subtract six from both sides. Then you get y/7+6-6=11-6, which is the same as y/7 = 5. Since y is divided by seven, to cancel out the seven, you need to multiply by seven on both sides, and you get y = 35
Hope this helped!!(:

First multiply every thing by 7 to get rid of the fraction.
(y/7)(7) +6(7)=11(7)
y+42=77
y=35
