B is the one without a solution, because it states that a square root is less than a negative number. if √x is less than a negative value, then there isn't a number that you can plug into x that would make the inequality true. the square root of negative numbers creates an error (or an invisible number) so any values less than 0 plugged in for x don't satisfy the inequality. any positive numbers only give you positive square root results, so you don't get anything less than -17. for example:

√(36) < -17
6 < -17 is false.
