The problem can be solved as follows:

$\begin{gathered} \ln (5x+6)=3 \\ \log _e(5x+6)=3 \\ 5x+6=e^3 \\ x=(e^3-6)/(5) \end{gathered}$

So the value of x is:

$x=(e^3-6)/(5)\approx2.8171$

So the apprximate value of x is 2.8171.
