divide the 228 by 5 and you should get 45.6 or rounding, 46
So, there were 46 girls and 182 boys.
You can check by multiplying 46 by 5 and you will get 228
Hope this helped

Well there is 1 girl for every 5 boys so you could add 1 + 5 to get 6, and divide the total students by 6 to get 38 girls.
