Answer: He bought 46.875 pounds of rice for the week.

Explanation:

Total rice he bought = (Number of dishes made in a week) x (portion of rice in each dish)

GIven: Each portion has 5 ounces of rice.

i.e. each portion has
(5)/(16) pounds of rice. [ 1 pound = 16 ounces]

Total rice he bought ( in pounds)=
150*(5)/(16)

=46.875\text{ pounds}

Hence, he bought 46.875 pounds of rice for the week.
