3x^2 = 6x-3 (I'm using the x^2 for x to the 2 power)

Subtract the 6x and add the 3 to both sides to get all terms to one side:
3x^2-6x+3=0

Factor out a 3:
3(x^2-2x+1)=0

Factor the quadratic:
3(x-1)(x-1)

Set x-1 equal to 0 and solve:
x-1=0
x=1

Answer:
x=1
