Explain whether a monopolist uses resources efficiently.

For the answer to the question above, I think it depends on the monopolist, it's in their best interest to use resources efficiently though because it can result in more profit naturally. Just look at John Rockefeller Sr. who founded the Standard oil. He directed the growth and development of oil in the U.S. and used the resources efficiently.
