Explanation:

-2 + 2x = -x + 2 + x

-2 + 2x = -x + x + 2

-2 + 2x = 2

2x = 4

Divide 4 by to 2 in order to isolate the variable and then you get the answer of 2.

x=2, you cancel the negative x and positive x on the right side, add 2 to to both sides for 2x = 4, and then divide by 2.
