Use the surface area formula of:
2 \pi rh+2 \pi r^2.

2 \pi r^2 refers to the two faces of the areas of the circle, and the first part (
2 \pi rh), refers to the side of the cylinder that is not the circles, which is the circumference times the height. By using this formula, you would get approximately 282.74 yards.
