Step 1. Move the negative sign to the left


8=3- (x)/(6)


Step 2. Subtract 3 from both sides


8-3=- (x)/(6)


Step 3. Simplify 8 - 3 to 5


5=- (x)/(6)


Step 4. Multiply both sides by 6


5 * 6= -x


Step 5.
Simplify 5 * 6 to 30


30=-x


Step 6. Multiply both sides by -1


-30=x


Step 7. Switch sides


x=-30

First, we need to isolate the x by removing the 3 from the x.

8=3+x/-6
8-3 = 3-3+x/-6
5 = x/-6.

Then you remove the -6 from the x and since it is being divided by x we multiply it
5 x -6 = x/-6x-6
-30 = x
So x = -30
