The correct answer is A) the Pacific Ocean and the Missouri River.

The Pacific Railway Act of 1862 created funding and land grants for a railway that would stretch between the Pacific Ocean and the Missouri River.

President Abraham Lincoln signed the Pacific Railway Act on July 1, 1862. The act provided subsidies form the government in land and loaned money for the construction of a much needed transcontinental railroad that connected the East part of the country with the West. The Act authorized two companies to build the railroad. The Union Pacific started to build the tracks from Omaha, Nebraska, and the Central Pacific from Sacramento Californi. Both tacks would unite in Utah.
