11/12 is also nearly 1.

Estimate:

7+7/8+2+11/12≈7+1+2+1≈11

Real Answer:

7+7/8+2+11/12

=9+7/8+11/12

=72/8+7/8+11/12

=79/8+11/12

=948/96+88/96

=1036/96

=960/96+76/96

=10+76/96
