The mathematical work on the Laws of Motion by Issac Newton, still forms the basis for the study of motion today. He has three laws of motion.
The First Law of Motion: an object at rest will stay at rest.
The Second Law of Motion: acceleration is produced when a force is acted on a mass.
The Third Law of Motion: for every action, there is an equal and opposite re-action
