So we now that there's
//
gallons per mile used.
Now if we divide
//
round that to 48 and the car will use around 48 gallons to travel 1054 miles

The total distance is 1054 miles
The rate of fuel consumption is 20/440 = 1/22 gallons per mile.
1/22 gallons/mile * 1054 miles = 1054/22 gallons = 47.9 gallons
