The correct answer is “France”

In 1884 the Qing Dynasty - founded by the Manchu Aisin Gioro clan - attempted to invade Vietnam and fought a war with France that ended in the defeat of China. This resulted in the Treaty of Tientsin. This treaty recognized French dominance over Vietnam and Indochina. After this, it started the French colony in Vietnam in mid-1800s.
