Write an equation for the linear function that contains the point (1,4) with slope 2.

Simple...

you have: the slope is 2 and it hits the line at (1,4)-->(x,y)

Using y=mx+b to find the equation, plug in what you know-->>>m=2 (slope)

4=2(1)+b

4=2+b

4=2+b
-2 -2

2=b

y=2x+2

Thus, your answer.
