The desert and tundra are alike because they both have
limited available water.
The
tundra
biomes are characterized by very low temperatures due to which the ground is permanently covered by a layer of ice and this is known
permafrost
.
The
desert
biomes are characterized by a very low average rainfall of
less than 25 cm per yea
r and they have a hot and dry climate.
Both Tundra and desert biomes have
water scarcity
as the in the tundra the permafrost does not allow the water to percolate into the ground and in the desert, the amount of rainfall is very less.
