well you need a common denominator which in this case is 24. you multiply 7/8 by 3 and get 21/24 when you multiply 2/3 you get 16/24. you add 21/24+16/24 and get 1 13/24

Multiply until both fractions have the same common denominator
21/24 + 16/24
Add the numerators but NOT the denominators
Final Answer: 37/24 or 1 13/24 *Both answers are equivlant to each other.
