In geometry, what are reciprocals?

Reciprocals are simply fractions that are turned upside down. For example, what do you think is the reciprocal of 2/3? Right, it's 3/2. It can also be 1 1/2 because 3/2 is an improper fraction. :)

The reciprocal is shown as 1/x, or x-1. When we multiply a number by its reciprocalwe get 1. Example: 3 times 1/3 equals 1. Also called the "Multiplicative Inverse" See: Multiplicative Inverse.
