You have to start by writing everything out

f(x)=(x+4)(x-2)(x-2)(x-2)

now you multiply... let's start with (x+4)(x-2)

x^2-2x+4x-8 ---> x^2+2x-8

now we multiply that by the next set (x^2+2x-8)(x-2)

x^3-2x^2+2x^2-4x-8x+16 ---> x^3-12x+16

and again, we multiply by the next set (x^3-12x+16)(x-2)

x^4-2x^3-12x^2+24x+16x-32 ---> x^4-2x^3-12x^2+40x-32

and that is your final answer

You set the equation equal to zero and you get -4,2,2 and if u plug this numbers in to get y then you get 0
