When you multiply a number with a exponent the exponent will add?

The exponent "product rule" tells us that, when multiplying two powers that have the same base, you can add the exponents. In this example, you can see how it works.

When you multiply a number with an Exponent nothing adds..what happens is if for example

your problem is 4 exponent 3 you need to multiply 4 by itself 3 times... so 4 exponent 3 equals 4 x 4 x 4.
