To find the equation of the line that passes through ( -702, 178.5) and (100, -22)

we will use the formula;

y-y_1=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)(x-x_1)

From the points given:

x₁=-702 y₁=178.5 x₂ =100 y₂=-22

substituting into the formula;

y-178.5=(-22-178.5)/(100+702)(x+702)

Simplifying;

y-178.5=(-200.5)/(802)(x+702)

y-178.5\text{ = -}0.25(x+\text{ 702)}

open the parenthesis;

y - 178.5 = -0.25x - 175.5

y= -0.25x - 175.5 + 178.5

y= -0.25x + 3
