Why is depression so common in teens? from an evolutionary standpoint wouldn't it have been evolved out? especially when it so often leads to suicide or self harming.

Depression isn't something people are born with, therefore it cannot be evolved out. Depression is an indicator of a traumatic event or continuous and or repetitive bullying, and many teens have experienced at least one of these. Depression also stems from feelings of worthlessness. I hope I helped

well they usually become depressed from bullying, abuse, death from a loved one or even their parents going through divore, thats most likely why they go through depression amd i hope this helped u
