A parachutist's rate during a free fall reaches 135 miles per hour. What is this rate in feet per second? At this rate, how many feet will the parachutist fall during 2 seconds of free fall? In your computations, use the fact that 1 mile is equal to 5280 feet. Do not round your answers. THANK YOU!!!

1 mile = 5280 feet 135*5280=712,800
135 miles per hour = 712,800 feet per second
712,800+712,800= 1,425,600 feet per 2 seconds

The parachutist will free fall 1,425,600 feet in 2 seconds.

Answer:

Parachutist will fall 396 feet in 2 seconds.

Explanation:

A parachutist's rate during a free fall reaches 135 miles per hour.

We have to calculate this rate in feet per second.

Rate = 135
(miles)/(hour)

= 135×
(5280)/(60* 60)=135* (5280)/(3600) feet per second

= 135×1.467 feet per second

= 198 feet per second

Now we have to calculate the fall of the parachutist during 2 seconds.

Fall = 198×2 = 396 feet
