170 because if 76.50 is 0.45 (or 45%) of their total budget, it's total budget×0.45. to get the total, y I u have to do the opposite here which is dividing, so you divide 76.5 by 0.45 which is 170

If Rachel's total budget was n, then:
.45n=$76.5 divide both sides by .45
n=$76.5/.45
n=$170.00 Rachel's total budget.
