The impact can differ from both a negative and positive stand point. IF your trying to get a point across to a reader during an argumentative though could be said a lot shows the reader that your extending your position by repeating it. If you're repeating a certain phrase during an essay or story, stronger vocabulary could be useful or using different writing strategies could be even more useful as well(ethos,pathos,logos).
