for
ax+by=c
slope=-a/b

4x+2y=7
slope=-4/2=-2

xintercept is where the line crosses the x asis or where y=0
yintercept is where the line crosses the t asis or where x=0

so
xint
set y=0
4x=7
divide by 4
x=7/4
xint is 7/4 or the point (7/4,0)

yint
set x to 0
2y=7
divide 2
y=7/2
yint is y=7/2 or point (0,7/2)

slope is -2
xint is x=7/4 or the point (7/4,0)
yint is y=7/2 or point (0,7/2)
