To determine the inverse function :

f(x)=\text{ 2(x-4)}
\begin{gathered} f(x)=\text{ y} \\ y=2x-8 \\ y+8=2x \\ 2x=y+8 \end{gathered}

The inverse function is calculated by replacing the x with y variable

\begin{gathered} (2x)/(2)=(y)/(2)+(8)/(2) \\ x=(y+8)/(2) \\ f^(-1)(x)=(x+8)/(2) \end{gathered}

Therefore the inverse function :

f^(-1)(x)=(x+8)/(2)
