Why did colonists object to tea act

The colonist had objected to the tea act simply because they felt as if it was like all of the other taxes which were imposed on them by the British government

Many colonists opposed the Act, not so much because it rescued the East India Company, but more because it seemed to validate the Townsend Tax on tea.
