A line has a slope of -1/2 and a y-intercept of 3.

Which equations represent the line?

Choose all answers that are correct.

A. 2y = 6 + x

B. x + 2y = 6

C. y = -1/2x + 3 <-------- I know it's this one

D. (y - 2) = -1/2(x - 2)

I need to be refreshed on this because it has been a while... Also this is multiple choice.

y=mx+b
m=slope
b=yintercept

given
m=-1/2
b=3

y=-1/2x+3
see other options, see if they wil simplify
solv for y

A. 2y=6+x
divide by 2
y=1/2x+3
nope, it is supposed to be -1/2, not 1/2

B. x+2y=6
minus x
2y=-x+6
divide 2
y=-1/2x+3
yes

C. yep

D. distribute -1/2
y-2=-1/2x+1
add 2 to both sides
y=-1/2x+3
yes
