Bartolemeu Dias was a Porteguese noble man who sailed around the tip of Africa in 1487, on October 10. He was the first European ever to do so.

Bartolemeu Dias a nobleman of the Portugese household and a famous explorer. In 1488 he sailed a ship around the southern tip of Africa becoming the first European ever to do so.
