b. 8/1 x 10 = 80 pages in ten minute.

a.) We want to find out the unit rate (pages per 1 minute), therefore, we must do and get
`48 \text{ pages} / 6 \text{ minutes} = {8 \text{ pages per minute}}`.

b.) We can write a proportion and just solve for how many pages the fax machine can transmit knowing the unit rate of 8 pages per minute. (I prefer the latter option.) So we just multiply:
