You start with Parentheses using the formula PEMDAS
P=Parentheses first
E=Exponents
M=Multiplying
D=Division
A=Adding
S-Subtracting
---------------------------------
Now you combine like terms
is your answer

24x + 40 + 14
24x + 54
Answer: In simplest form it is 24x + 54
First you have to distribute the 8 in the parenthesis and then simplify the answer further.
