LCM - Least common denominator.
GCF - Greatest common factor.
There's a huge difference. LCM is the least common denominator and GCF, being the greatest common factor.

LCM=least common multipule, means the smallest number that both are a multipule are, like how 6 is a a multipule of 3 and 2

GCF=greatest common factor, the biggest factor that is common to both numbers

example
18 and 24
finding LCM
factor each
18=2*3*3
24=2*2*2*3
LCM=2*2*2*3*3=72
LCM=72

finding GCF
factor each
18=2*3*3
24=2*2*2*3
GCF=2*3 or 6
