What is the amount of discount?

What is the sale price?

Part 1

we have that

60%=60/100=0.60

Multiply the factor 0.60 by the original price

24.95*0.60=14.97

therefore

the amount of discount is $14.97

Part 2

the sale price is equal to subtract the amount of discount from the original price

24.95-14.97=$9.98

the sale price is $9.98
