Two numbers are of the ratio 3:5. If their difference is 18, find the numbers.

est Answer: say the numbers are x and y......and y being the bigger number ... If the ratio is 5:3, then difference between ratio = 5-3 = 2 ... Substituting this x = 5y/3 in equation x-y=18 we get ... therefore x = 5 * 27/3 = 5*9 = 45 .... One number is 5 more than another. their sum is 53 what are the two numbers?
