we have the function

f(x)=(3)/(5x+11)

Part A

Remember that

the denominator cannot be equal to zero

so

5x+11=0

5x=-11

x=-11/5

therefore

the value of x can not be equal to x=-11/5

the domain is the interval (-infinite, -11/5) U (-11/5, infinite)

Part B

Find f(1)

Remember that

f(1) is the value of f(x) when the value of x=1

substitute

f(1)=(3)/(5(1)+11)
f(1)=(3)/(16)

and the coordinates of the point are (1,3/16)

x=1

y=3/16
