How is 4 over 5 equal to 0.8?

Okay, we know that
(5)/(5) is equal to 1. Now if we divide 1 by 5 to see how many times 5 can go into 1 we see that 1÷5 or
(1)/(5) = .2

So every
(1)/(5) is equal to .2

Now we can multiply the .2 by 4 to see what
(4)/(5) is equal to because
(1)/(5) *4= (4)/(5)

And 4 * .2= .8

4 over 5 is a fraction. So.......that would be this fraction ------> *4/5.*

4/5 is a not a *whole* number. it's 80% to a whole number. So if you convert it into a decimal form, you would get 0.8.
