Although Hinduism was born in India, it wasn't founded by only one individual. Actually, it's more like of a combination of many religious beliefs. So essentially, its origins are mixed and complex.
Some of it's core beliefs are:
-truth is eternal
-Brahman is truth and reality: hindus believe that Brahman is the one true God who is formless, limitless, and eternal
-everyone should strive to achieve dharma. Dharma could be described as righteousness.
-individual souls are immortal
-and that the goal of the individual soul is "moksha". This basically means to be born again in a new life (which is also known as reincarnation).
And finally, their practices include many rituals such as "puja" (worship) and recitations, meditation, family-oriented rites of passage, annual festivals, and occasional pilgrimages. Some Hindus even leave their social lives and worldly possessions to achieve moksha.
