We can solve for "y" first by subtracting x to both sides:


4y=-6-x

now we divide both sides by 4:


y=-(6)/(4)-(x)/(4)

Simplifying:


y=-(3)/(2)-(x)/(4)

Since the equation is of the form:


y=mx+b

This is the equation of a line. Therefore, to plot this line we only need to points. We find the points by giving values to "x".

For x = 0:
